Hi this is Zuzu! It's official: the Asian Art Museum’s most popular workshop series is back! This July, I'm bringing the fun Saturday Sketchbook Social to more studios across the Bay Area, starting with Society of Thumbs on July 18 and July 25.

If you've always wanted to draw but didn't know where to start, or if it's been a battle between you and perfectionism every time you picked up a pencil, this workshop is for you.

Together in this 120-minute workshop, we'll explore sketchbooks as a simple, joyful way to slow down, pay attention, and enjoy the creative process, drawing inspiration from a collection of summer memories captured at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.

My teaching philosophy is simple: everyone can create art. I believe a sketchbook isn't about making perfect art. It's a place to experiment, play, and capture the little moments that make everyday life interesting.

You'll have access to a variety of easy, approachable art supplies, and I'll guide you through fun exercises that help you build confidence one page at a time. No pressure, no grades, and no "right" way to draw.

At the end of this workshop, you'll leave with a unique, hand-illustrated page, creative ideas, and the confidence to keep exploring and creating long after the event ends.
